Adopt an Animal

Our Adoption Policy

We adopt out animals (mostly dogs) to approved homes only. We require that potential adopters fill out a pre-adoption questionnaire to allow us to assess the adopters’ home setting. We also require a signed contract which protects our adoptees both now and in the future. D.O.G.S.S. reserves the right to refuse placement of our animals. We retain the right to visit the homes of animals who have been adopted through D.O.G.S.S. In order to protect the welfare of our animals, we have a return policy which allows us to take back an animal who remains in need. All our dogs and cats are spayed/neutered upon placement. In the case of puppies/kittens, commitments to neuter/spayed these animals will be made before adoption. Adoptees may and will be returned to D.O.G.S.S. if for any reason (no questions asked) they cannot remain with their adopted family. All our animals get all their necessary vaccinations before being available for adoption.

Adoption fees are never over $50 (which includes the price for the spay/neutering and all vaccinations).

Buddy:  Buddy came to us yesterday from Paris, OH. His “parents” had to move upstate into a rental house that does not allow pets. He is currently being fostered and is looking for a loving, forever home. He is a Golden Retriever/Collie mix, neutered, good with kids, other dogs and seems to be ok with cats. He is approx. 6 years old. He is a very loving dog so he would need a lot of attention. Buddy would do best in a fenced-in yard since he is a “runner”. He will be available for adoption next week. Please contact us if you want him for your “Buddy”.
